Sculpture Garden

Sculpture Garden

Carol interviewed by Alice - the "Red Soil Gardener"

Born of a desire to create a 'salad bowl' for our Colobus Monkey family, the sculpture garden at One Off grew into a full-on gardening and sculpture display project.  The garden covers two acres and is still something of a work in progress with a water feature still on the drawing board.

The initial objective having been met, with the planting of 130 indigenous trees and shrubs to feed the monkeys, birds and butterflies, the garden has become a spectacular addition to the main gallery, offering visitors a comprehensive art experience. Sculptures from a minimum of 15 Kenya based artists are displayed at any one time.  Media displayed, ranges from glass, metal and marble to Blue Stone and wood.

Visiting the Sculpture Garden

Having arrived in the car park, please follow the wooden pathways and wander through to the gazebo.  All along the route look out for the sculptures peeping out from Bamboo trees, lying on steps or tucked beneath leafy overhangs - then take time to lie on the grass, drink in nature and watch the clouds.

Sculpture Garden Etiquette

Wear flat walking shoes with good tread - THE PATHWAYS ARE SLIPPERY IN THE WET WEATHER.
  • No pets please; we have 26 of our own dogs, cats, horses, donkeys and birds.
  • Opening hours are 11am to 5pm (unless by prior arrangement).
  • No picnicking.
  • Please take any litter away with you.
  • All flora and fauna should be respected and remain untouched in the garden.
We hope you will enjoy viewing the sculptures in a natural environment and will return regularly to witness the garden maturing.
