Collector's Opportunity
Only once in a while is it possible to 'turn back the clock' and scoop up something from an artist's past series. We are delighted to be able to offer just such an opportunity.
The 'Untitled Sheep Series' from Peterson Kamwathi is considered part of one of Peterson's most important and iconic series. First shown by Xavier Verhoest at Le Rustique Restaurant, the series was Peterson's launching pad in 2007 and subsequently, he has gone from strength to strength. More recently, Peterson produced five 'Studies for Monument to a Rainbow' from which these two enamelled steel sculptures are drawn, cousins of which adorn the grounds of Garden City Mall on Thika Road. Again, this is a chance for a serious collector to add to their collection with historically significant works.
Finally, we have a work from Peter Ngugi titled 'Green Army', from a series first shown at One Off Gallery at an exhibition called 'The Pigs of Thika Town' in April 2013. Following on from his extraordinary auction success at Piasa in Paris in 2019, where his work fetched Euro 26,000, Ngugi's works have become much sought after.
