Fitsum Berhe Exhibition
About the exhibitionLife is merely a spectacle.
I like to indulge in the physicality of paint matter while portraying images of people. Images of people whose thoughts are permeated with the incredible imperfections of excessive thinking. The stories of our lives; distractions of the times we live in, idolization of the other more than the self which leads to a smaller me. In an attempt to engage our core beauty, I navigate through the presence of illusions of reality that separates us from our higher selves. Unveiling the illusions of our times, that which occupies us. In this body of work I try to construct images of the diminished self we hold and possibly indicate what could free us through contemplation, connection, as well as the dimensions that are sacred.
